Madagascar Carnivore Project

2008--2016 & 2017--present

Started by Dr. Kelly in 2008 in collaboration with Dr. Christopher Holmes of WCS, this project used remotely triggered camera traps to survey for carnivores at the Anjanaharibe site in Madagascar.

The project quickly expanded to multiple sites across Madagascar. We used the data to estimate species distribution, and spatial and temporal co-occurrence simultaneously for multiple carnivores.

We also produced density estimates for Malagasy Civets and Fosa.

The project has continued under former WHAPA members Dr. Zach Farris & PhD student Asia Murphy and honorary WHAPA Lab member Dr. Brian Gerber.
